Advent

Advent is a time of preparation for Christmas - not the preparation that involves lists and presents and Christmas wrapping. This preparation is getting ready for the coming of Jesus, we remember the first coming as a baby in a manger, and then we look forward to his return. The family service is the kids take on this waiting, the advent festival involves bible readings and good old fashioned hymns that tell the story, and the blue Christmas service recognises that this time of year is difficult for many. Finally we get to Christmas where we celebrate together.
